Veggie Quinoa, Millet and Vegetable Burger Recipe

Millet and quinoa are still unknown in kitchens, although little by little we are incorporating them into our diets. They are highly nutritious cereals and highly recommended for people on gluten-free diets. They also provide a large amount of healthy vegetable protein and carbohydrates. Millet and quinoa are used to prepare sweet and savory dishes, and are a good choice for a healthy and nutritious breakfast or meal. In this recipe of veggie, millet and veggie burgers we are going to combine these two cereals. You will see that you will love the result.

  • 100 grams of millet
  • 50 grams of quinoa
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon of ginger powder
  • ½ cup of flour (70 grams)

Steps to follow to make this recipe: 1

Wash the two cereals well with the help of a strainer under the tap. Put them in a saucepan and cover with double the amount of water, salt and a splash of oil. Bring the water to a boil and when it boils set the heat to low, cover the saucepan and cook millet and quinoa for 12-15 minutes until all the water evaporates. Then let them rest 5 more minutes with the fire off.


Chop the carrot and onion into small pieces and sauté them with a little oil in a pan.


Mix the millet and quinoa cooked in a bowl with the sofrito, salt, pepper, turmeric, ginger and breadcrumbs. Knead until you get a homogeneous mixture for the quinoa and millet burgers.


Heat a frying pan or griddle with a little oil. You go taking small portions of dough with your hands and form the vegan quinoa, millet and vegetable burgers. Substitute them in the flour and fry until golden brown on both sides.
