Vegan Russian Lentil and Oatmeal Steak Recipe

Vegan Russian Lentil and Oatmeal Steak Recipe

These lentil steaks and oatmeal that I bring to RecetasGratis are very nutritious and tasty. They will be the perfect option for your lunch or dinner thanks to their high protein, fiber and zero cholesterol content. We are going to use the crushed oat flakes so that the lentils stick together and vegan russian steaks do not fall apart, instead of using breadcrumbs. The result is compact steaks with a lot of flavor that you can not only serve on your plate accompanied by vegetables, rice or pasta, but also inside a sandwich or hamburger.

  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • ½ cup of oat flakes
  • 1 onion
  • ½ red pepper
  • ½ crushed tomato
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Steps to follow to make this recipe: 1

Finely chop the onion, garlic, pepper and basil. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the vegetable until medium soft. Add the crushed tomato and keep frying until the vegetable is ready and the tomato is reduced a little.

Crush the oat flakes in the mixer for several seconds so that they are finely chopped but do not turn into powder.

In a bowl put the cooked lentils, the sofrito, the salt and the crushed oats. Knead with your hands and form steaks or lentil burgers.

Heat a skillet with a little oil and cook the vegan fillets on both sides until golden.

Trick: You can also bake them for half an hour at 180 degrees.
