How Much Does a Pound of Shredded Chicken Feed?

One pound of cooked cooked chicken serves about 2 people (1/2 pound each). If you want to serve this for a crowd of 100 people: You would need around 30 pounds of raw chicken in various clay pots. Adjust the proportions accordingly!

Recipe ingredients:

  • Boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • Maple syrup
  • Ketchup
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Dark mustard
  • Tomato paste
  • Spices: garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper

How much BBQ sauce should you use?

For 2 pounds of chicken you will need approximately 1 1/2 cups of BBQ sauce. My favorite prepared BBQ sauce is Primal Kitchen's sugar-free BBQ sauce.

How to make shredded barbecue chicken:

Start by mixing all the dried spices in a bowl, then pat the chicken dry and rub the breasts with the seasoning until completely covered.

Put the chicken in the slow cooker, then add the ingredients for the BBQ sauce (or the store-bought barbecue assortment) and cook on low for 6-7 hours (preferably) or 3 hours on high if it's necessary. Start to check the cooking at 6 o'clock. Chicken must have an internal temperature of 165 ° F.

Shred the chicken and stir well. Serve immediately!

How is cooked chicken minced?

The best way to shred cooked chicken is to use two forks to separate it. This is the best technique for barbecue chicken specifically.

Another option: put the chicken in a bowl and beat gently with a hand mixer or stand mixer.
