Ok, I know s'mores are a total summer thing, but have you made a s'mores with your icy hands while your teeth trembled and curled up in the fire hoping the marshmallow on your stick would roast to always so you can grill it? stay close to the fire as long as possible? That was basically my children's first experience with s'mores and it was last winter when we were in Vermont skiing (or pretending to know how to ski technically).

We were braving the cold with the kids for about 2 hours and took a break by the campfire in the complex we were staying in, and made our own smores. We had sticky fingers, chocolate on our nose and we didn't want it any other way! That's when my kids fell in love with s'mores! For me, the relationship is mature and strong … OBV.

But I never thought about messing around with the perfect combination of chocolate, brownies, and marshmallows until I saw some trends on Pinterest that included all sorts of cool variations. One of them was this Strawberry S’mores and I had to try it. Let me tell you, the original combination will always take the cake … BUT … great but here … WOW … adding fresh fruit to the mix left me speechless! It was sweet, refreshing, and a perfect complement to the classic smores recipe.

What I did was put a piece of dark chocolate on one cookie, some thinly sliced strawberries on another cookie.

Then my husband roasted the marshmallows on the grill and placed them right between the chocolate and the strawberries.
