Slow cooker chicken

  • 2 kg of fresh whole chicken
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 5 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch of paprika


  1. Wash the chicken and then pat it dry with a paper towel.

  2. Place the lemon, garlic, and thyme in the chicken cavity.

  3. Season the chicken with a little salt, pepper and paprika.

  4. Place in a greased slow cooker and cook on high for 6 hours.


  • 1 slow cooker


Serve with roasted vegetables, such as parsnips, potatoes, squash, and broccoli.

It is also nice with Yorkshire puddings.
