  • 500 g of minced meat
  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 2 sliced ​​onions
  • 2 teaspoons plain flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sautéed vegetables, chopped


  1. Combine meat with baking soda, soy sauce, garlic, and five Chinese spices. Let stand a few minutes to soften.

  2. Heat half the oil in a skillet, fry the onions until smooth and set aside.

  3. Heat the rest of the oil. Brown the meat mixture in the pan. Add vegetables, if you are using them, and sauté for a minute.

  4. Add a little flour to thicken and add more soy sauce or water to achieve the desired thickness of the sauce.

  5. Return the onions to the skillet and sauté until the meat and vegetables are fully cooked.


Garlic or sesame oil gives it a great flavor.

For low-fat dishes, the oil can be replaced with spray oil or omitted entirely.
