My secret weapon? Roasted garlic! Easy to make and full of flavor, simply drizzle an entire garlic head with olive oil, salt, and pepper, and then roast it until it's sweet, smooth, and caramelized.

For a little sparkle and acidity, I also add a little fresh lemon juice. If you don't have it on hand, rice vinegar or lime or balsamic juice would also work well.

Roasted Garlic Green Beans

A quick and easy vegetarian garnish recipe, steamed green beans are mixed with roasted garlic and fresh lemon juice.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green beans (cut)
  • 8 roasted garlic cloves (lightly minced)
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes

Instructions

  • Place a steamer basket in a medium saucepan filled with 2-3 inches of water. Bring the water to a boil, and then place the green beans on top of the steam basket. Cover the pot with a lid and steam until the green beans are tender and crisp, about 5-6 minutes.
  • Mix the steamed green beans with roasted garlic, lemon juice, salt, and chili flakes.
