Pizza Tot Casserole

Most of us remember eating "Tater Tot Casserole" while growing up. It seems that everyone's mother had her own version. Usually it consisted of some kind of cream from any soup, ground meat, a vegetable, usually corn or green beans and fries. While that version is great, I personally think this pizza pan is better! My family loves it … and yours too! It's super easy to make and it's a nice variation on the classic! Enjoy!

Pizza Tot Casserole

Most of us remember eating "Tater Tot Casserole" while growing up. It seems that everyone's mother had her own version. Usually it consisted of some kind of cream from any soup, ground meat, a vegetable, usually corn or green beans and fries. While that version is great, I personally think this pizza pan is better! My family loves it … and yours too! It's super easy to make and it's a nice variation on the classic! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of Italian sausage
  • 3 ounces pepperoni slices in half
  • 1 small green pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 oz. fresh chopped mushrooms
  • 1 jar (14-15 oz.) Of pizza sauce
  • 2 cups (8 oz.) Mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 bag (32 oz.) Frozen fries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 ° F. Spray 9 x 13-inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, brown and crumble the sausage with the green pepper, onion, and mushrooms over medium-high heat. Cook until the sausage is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender and crisp. Drain. Return the mixture to the pan and add the pepperoni sauce and pizza. Mix well. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet. Top with mozzarella cheese. Cover with tater tots.
  3. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes or until potatoes are golden brown and cheese is melted.
