- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup of yeast flour

For the filling: Add 8 Granny Smith apples (peeled, quartered, cored, and sliced) 2 cups water and 1 cup sugar in a large saucepan and cook until apples are soft, drain and allow to cool.
For the dough: Combine 1 cup plain flour, 1 cup self-rising flour, 1/2 cup soft butter (125 g), 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon cold water until smooth. form a dough. Preheat oven to 170 °. Mix the flours, add sugar. Rub the butter with the dry ingredients. Add the egg and water, mix until you have a firm dough. Knead until smooth, wrap in a cheerful wrap, chill for 15/20 min.
Grease a deep baking dish or slab. Divide the dough into 2. Roll up half of the dough and put it in the can.
Spread the apple evenly over the dough. Place the other half of the dough on top to create a lid.
Sprinkle sugar on top and then bake in the oven for 60 minutes.

The dough can be made in a food processor. Other spices can be added to the apple mix.
