Do you have a favorite type of chocolate chip?

I use this chocolate for most of my melted chocolate it needs to because it melts softer than chocolate chips. There are no stabilizers in it, so I don't have to "refine" it to melt it. None of that in and out of the microwave seven times, stirring between each 20-second blast and hoping it doesn't ruin the monkey business.

For my daily baking that requires tactile chocolate chips, I use Trader Joe's semi-sweet chocolate chips (and stock up on their pre-Christmas white baking chips as they are in season at my store).

Since I buy a lot of my baking supplies based on price, if I didn't have access to a Trader Joe's, I would probably use the semi-sweet bites from Ralph's grocery store or the semi-sweet Nestle Tollhouse.

I don't waste on more expensive chocolate chips like Ghirardelli or Scharffen Berger or more luxurious pieces of chocolate for the "everyday" goodies I make for my family. I reserve that kind of chocolate for special baking occasions.

Happy chocolate chip day and I hope you have something with chocolate chips today!
