MINI DONUT SUGAR AND CINNAMON DOLLS

These donut muffins are super delicious. Dipping them in melted butter and then rolling them with cinnamon sugar is not only fun (kids love it) but it also keeps them completely soft and (excuse the word …) moist. They literally melt in your mouth! And it takes 10 minutes to prepare and 15 minutes to bake, so it's about half an hour to take these sugary sweets in your mouth!

They are a lot of fun to make and all you need is a bowl and a whisk (or a spatula). These don't have eggs, but they do have milk, so they're not vegan, but it's still great to have a recipe that doesn't require eggs. Tell me that you also have days to bake insect strikes and you are out of eggs? Too often for me. It got to the point where my husband is looking for chickens that we can raise in the backyard. 🙂

HOW TO MAKE MINI DONUT MUFFINS?

  • Preheat oven and grease muffin tin (cavities and top). Set aside.

  • In a medium bowl, mix together flour and baking powder. Set aside.

  • In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter and sugar. Add spices and vanilla, beat well. Add milk and beat again. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth.

  • Fill the muffin tin. Bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of each bun comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 2 minutes, transfer to a wire rack.

  • Prepare the coating: melt the butter in a small bowl; In another small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. When the muffins are completely cold, dip each one in melted butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar. Return to a wire rack and allow to cool for a few minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg or cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 Cup of granulated sugar to roll

  5. Prepare the coating: melt the butter in a small bowl; In another small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon. When the muffins are completely cold, dip each one in melted butter and then roll in cinnamon sugar. Return to the rack and let cool for a few minutes.
