Margarita pomegranate

This Pomegranate Margarita recipe is the perfect way to enjoy your margaritas once the fall weather sets it. It has a beautiful ruby color and a delicious sweet and sour taste.

The dense humidity that has been hanging around all week seems to have finally disappeared, leaving us with a brilliant weekend of sunny weather but not too hot to enjoy. I really want to hang out on my back porch and my poor dog too. She loves going to the sun, but with her jet black fur, she gasps after a minute or two when it's hot. Our porch is covered and 80% is in the shade at any time of the day, but the old girl will lie down under the direct sun. It doesn't take long before I'm scratching the door to go back inside.

We don't usually eat on our porch, but we often sit outside with a drink. Coffee in the morning, cocktails in the evenings.

Sorry southern fellows. I never got into sipping sweet tea on the porch.

Margarita pomegranate

Pomegranate margaritas are a delicious fall touch on a traditional margarita and are easy to make. I have started to see grenades popping up in local markets. You don't actually need a fresh pomegranate for this drink as it uses pomegranate juice. But it's fun to decorate the drink with those beautiful ruby seeds.

Note: I use the POM Wonderful juice that is usually sold in the refrigerated section of the supermarket near the product.

Greetings to the weekend and I hope you enjoy this Pomegranate Margarita recipe!

This pomegranate-flavored margarita is the perfect cocktail for fall evenings on the front porch.

  • 4 tablespoons of sugar
  • 4 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 1/2 cups of pomegranate juice
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup orange liqueur
  • lime wedges for garnish

I used Cabo Wabo for tequila and cointreau, but since pomegranate juice tastes so strong, you could get away with using cheaper and triple sec tequila.
