Lime Cream Battered Shrimp Tacos – Quick, EASY, Restaurant-Quality Tacos at Home! Juicy shrimp battered with beer, avocado, cheese and a delicious lime cream to top it all off! Perfect for weekday dinners and easy entertainment!

Ingredients:

Lime cream

  • 6 ounces of Greek yogurt (I used 0% fat)
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest (grate the lime before juice)
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons of honey, optional and to taste

Tacos

  • a 16-ounce package of SeaPak Beer Battered Shrimp
  • 6 to 8 medium soft flour or corn tortillas, lightly charred if desired
  • 1 cup thinly sliced ​​red cabbage, divided
  • 1 medium / large ripe Hass avocado, diced into small pieces; divided
  • 1 cup grated or finely chopped cheese, divided (I used fresh cheese; cotija would be another great option)
  • fresh coriander finely chopped, for garnish
  • optional jalapeño peppers, pico de gallo or your favorite taco garnishes
  • lemon wedges, to garnish

Addresses:

  1. Lime cream – Add all ingredients to medium bowl, whisk to combine, taste and check flavor balance. Add more salt, pepper, etc. If you wish. I add and enjoy the slightly sweetened flavor that honey provides, but it's optional. Set the cream aside.
  2. Tacos – Cook shrimp according to package directions. While the shrimp are cooking, lightly charcoal the taco shells if desired. I place them directly into the oven burner over medium-high heat, and cook for about 10 seconds per side, turning them with a tongs. Watch them closely; use your favorite method.
  3. If desired, remove the tails and / or halve the shrimp before adding them to the taco shells.
  4. Top each taco with the desired amount of cabbage, avocado, cheese, coriander, optional ingredients, lime wedges on one side and drizzle evenly with cream to taste. Tacos are the best fresh. The additional cream will remain airtight for up to 5 days.
