During the summer, all I want after a long, hot day is an ice cold cocktail. I don't give myself up often, so I like to make sure that when I do, it's worth it. On a typical day, a Moscow mule is not a drink I normally look for. I prefer to make something like a watermelon margarita or a passion fruit mojito. But when you add a little kombucha and give it a tropical touch, suddenly the Moscow mule sounds like a dream come true.
I love the idea of adding kombucha to a cocktail, and a Moscow kombucha mule works amazingly well, as most ginger kombuchas have a really powerful ginger kick and lots of carbonation. It works on many levels, while making you feel better by savoring a little bit knowing how good kombucha is for you.
This particular reasoning is exactly why the ladies in the Eat Clean, Play Dirty book created this cocktail. Her book is about eating clean in a delicious way that will make you feel better about yourself inside and out. That is something I can endorse 100%.
What I love is that there is still balance in his book. The recipes are healthy, but they recognize that sometimes we need more, so there are also clean desserts and goodies to eat and a couple of cocktails like this Moscow kombucha mule to enjoy as well.
Even if you don't like the totally clean aspect of eating, this cocktail is worth enjoying all summer long. And with how fast and easy it is to do, there's really no reason not to try!
