This double Hershey's Kiss chocolate cake is so rich, so sweet and so decadent - even one bite is pure dessert treat! Hershey's Double Kiss Chocolate Cake Recipe

A while ago I realized that although I am a well-known chocolate lover, my blog had no legitimate chocolate recipe.

You know, the kind of chocolate dessert you dream of. The kind that makes you want to eat as slowly as possible to savor every bite. Every. Single. Bite.

This double Hershey's Kiss chocolate cake is so rich, so sweet and so decadent - even one bite is pure dessert treat!

I mentioned this obvious lack of chocolate to my husband (my soundboard and the creative genius behind almost every recipe on the blog) and he immediately suggested a recipe for chocolate cake, filled to the brim with big Hershey’s® kisses and finished with a creamy chocolate ganache. (My mouth watering just writing that!)

Here's what you need to make this slime-worthy Hershey Double Chocolate Kiss Cake:

  • 1 box of Betty Crocker â„¢ Super Moist Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • 3 1/2 cups of Hershey's kisses (we bought the party bag so there was more than enough for the recipe, and something else to nibble on!)
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (or soft butter)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Tip: We use Betty Crocker ™ Cake Mix and Hershey’s® Kisses Kisses, so you know this recipe is easy and delicious!

Addresses:

STEP ONE: In a large bowl, add the cake mix, 1 1/4 cups water, 3 eggs, and 1/2 cup vegetable oil. * Stir by hand until well combined. (You can also use a mixer at medium-low speed.)

Tip: My husband substitutes 1/2 cup of softened butter for vegetable oil. It is one of his professional tricks to making a box cake mix taste like it's made from scratch.

SECOND STEP: Place 1 1/2 cups of unwrapped Hershey’s Kisses in a medium bowl. Add 1 TB of flour and stir until chocolates are well covered. This will prevent the kisses from sinking to the bottom of the cake while baking.

STEP THREE: Add flour sprinkled Hershey's kisses to cake batter and stir by hand until completely mixed. Pour the dough into a baking pan (well greased with butter, make sure the pan is well covered so that the cake is easily released) and bake according to the instructions on the cake mix package. (Our pan was dark, so we baked about 45 minutes at 350 °).

STEP FOUR Remove the cake from the oven and gently shake to release the cake from the sides of the pan. When the cake is cold, you can invert the pan on a serving plate and the cake should slide out.

For the Ganache chocolate:

STEP ONE: Heat 1 cup heavy cream until steamed (but not boiling!)

SECOND STEP: While the cream is heating, cut 2 cups of Hersey's Kisses into pieces. Add to medium bowl.

STEP THREE: When the cream is hot, add it to the bowl with pieces of chocolate. Whisk until smooth and shiny. (You can add more chocolate for a thicker ganache or more cream for a thinner consistency, depending on your preference.) Pour on the cake, as much or as little as you like. (We use it all! Can you ever eat too much chocolate?)
