This creamy, dairy-free, intestinal-healing hot cocoa is a healthy but delicious version of hot cocoa. It turns out that it is good for your intestine and takes 5 minutes to prepare.

Hello Autumn. As the weather begins to get a little colder, I am starting to crave warm things all the time. Like fuzzy sweaters, fluffy blankets, warm curries, and soups. And, of course, swapping cold drinks for hot ones. That's where this healing hot cocoa comes in.

Then you will wonder, how is this hot cocoa going to be good for my intestinal health? There are 2 special ingredients (optional):

  • Turkey tail mushroom powder (also known as trametes versicolor). This medicinal mushroom is a beneficial prebiotic that can have beneficial effects on the health of the microbiome. (one). I like to use Host Defense Turkey Tail Mushroom Capsules because I trust this brand and it is grown in the USA. USA
  • Collagen peptides. Collagen plays a role in repairing the intestinal lining. (2), so it would be worth a try if you want to try it. I've only been taking it for a few weeks, so personally I can't say that it has helped me yet. Skip this if you are vegan / vegetarian.

As I do every few months, I am currently doing a no added sugar challenge this October. I make this drink unsweetened, and still find it creamy and tasty. However, I should probably preface it by saying that I can taste pretty bitter things.

If you want to add a little maple syrup to balance out the bitterness of the cocoa, go ahead! You can also use a date or two to sweeten it up, just toss it into the blender and mix for a little bit longer.

I hope you enjoy this hot cocoa for intestinal health! If you're looking for more drinks to heal the gut, check out this golden dairy-free coffee with milk.
