Gourmet sausage rolls

  • 500 g of minced meat
  • 500 g minced sausage meat
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 grated carrot
  • 120 g of fruit chutney
  • 5 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sesame seeds * for garnish
  • 5 puff pastry sheets


  1. Preheat forced oven fan to 180C.

  2. Mix all ingredients except egg, dough, and seeds in large bowl.

  3. Lay the mixture in a line in the center of the thawed dough sheet.

  4. Roll up in the tube, tightening the seam.

  5. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry sheets

  6. Cut into smaller portions and place on the cookie sheet.

  7. Cook for 30 minutes, or until dough is golden and flaky.


I use the leftover chutney as a dipping sauce. You can also substitute hot sauce and curry with pesto and dried tomatoes.
