Have you heard of Fish Fry Friday night?
If so, chances are you are from Wisconsin.
Every Friday when I was growing up, my family always visited one restaurant or another on a Friday night Fish Fry. Even long after I moved out of state, I knew I shouldn't bother trying to call my parents on Friday nights.
These PubStyle Beer Battered Cod Fish Bowls are a serious contender for the best fried fish on Friday night. And the best part is that not only do you not have to leave your house, but it is so easy to put together that it can be any night of the week!
I start my Fish Bowls with Gorton PubStyle Beer Battered Cod Tacos, which are delicious enough to be on your own. I can't really tell the difference between Gorton's PubStyle Beer Battered Cod and the beer-battered cod I'd have at a restaurant. They are the perfect ratio of fish and dough, and a heated oven makes them nice and crispy on the outside, as well as flaky and smooth on the inside.
To make your Fish Taco Bowls, you can use the ingredients you want, in the amounts that seem good to you. I use equal amounts of everything: a battered cod fillet with Gorton's PubStyle beer, fresh corn on the cob, grated cabbage, cooked rice, chopped red pepper, chopped poblano pepper, coriander, a little cheese, avocado, and a little chili Highlander.

Then I make a simple "dressing" with sour cream, a little hot sauce (usually Tabasco), fresh lime juice and a pinch of salt. Mix everything together and you have a delicious Fish Taco that everyone will devour.
Wherever you are from, I hope you try these Fish Taco Bowls and make tonight a Gorton’s Fish Fry night!
