Fillet steak

Ingredients

  • 750 g beef steak

Marinade

  • 2 tablespoons of dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of white pepper
  • 1 pinch of mixed herbs

sauce

  • 15 ml of oil
  • 1 tablespoon of plain flour
  • 1 cup Massel * Chicken-style liquid broth
  • 3 tablespoons of dijon mustard
  • 50 ml of cognac
  • 1 pinch of oregano
  • 1 pinch of white pepper
  • 1 pinch of mixed herbs
  • 4 tablespoons of fresh cream

Method

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients with the steak in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for five hours or overnight.

  2. Fry the fillets. Set aside.

  3. Sauce: In a saucepan, heat the oil until hot, then add the flour and mix well.

  4. Add the broth and stir.

  5. Add mustard, cognac, white pepper, oregano, and herbs and bring to a boil.

  6. Add fresh cream or thick, hot cream.

  7. Add sauce to steak and serve with french fries or potato wedges.

Notes

You can use a mixture of common mustard and Dijon mustard.
