The recipe is very easy and requires minimal effort. I can have it ready for the oven in just a few minutes. And my house always smells like autumn when it is baked.
I prefer Pear Crisp served lukewarm. But, it's always tasty when served at room temperature too! A scoop of ice cream makes it amazing.

How to make crispy pear
First, you'll need to preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Then heavily grease a baking dish with butter or butter. I like to use Crisco. I usually use an 8×10 baking pan.
After peeling and slicing the fresh pears, add them to the prepared plate. Then sprinkle cinnamon over the sliced pears.
In a medium bowl, combine Flour, quick cook oatmeal, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Then add the vanilla and cold butter.
Then use a pastry blender or two forks to cut the butter.

- 6-7 pears
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon divided
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 3/4 cup uncooked quick cook oatmeal
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cold butter
- Peel and cut the pears.
- Preheat oven to 375.
- Grease a baking dish.
- Place the pears in a baking dish (I used 8 × 10 ").
- Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Mix the flour, brown sugar, oatmeal, and remaining cinnamon in a bowl.
- Add the vanilla and cut the butter with a pastry cutter or fork.
- Work until mixture forms large crumbs.
- Sprinkle over the pears.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
