If you're looking for the perfect appetizer recipe for a party or snack at this year's Super Bowl party, this artichoke sauce recipe is definitely the one for you! Ingredients in Artichoke Dip

CREAM CHEESE gives this sauce its creamy base. I do it without sour cream (and just a touch of mayonnaise) although I could add them to your liking.

PARMESANadd just a touch of flavor and pair well with this sauce. Again, we add only a small amount so that the true flavor is the artichoke.

ARTICHOKES I use preserves or marinades, both work in this recipe. Canning is slightly simpler in flavor where marinated artichokes are often marinated in olive oil with seasonings.

GARLIC Use a fresh garlic clove for this (not the jar type) for best results. Garlic powder will serve if necessary.

Variations

I love the simplicity of this sauce and consider it to be perfect for my tastes. To change it, you can add any of the following:

    • chopped dried tomatoes
    • roasted red peppers or bell peppers
    • diced jalapeƱos
    • Fresh herbs
    • lemon zest or juice
