Hello guys! It's Emilie from Tales of a Texas Granola Girl! I can't believe it's already December and the holiday season is in full swing! Like many, this is my favorite time of year! I love to hang out and spend time with friends and family and very often that involves a cocktail! Even though I live a keto lifestyle, I do enjoy the casual drink for adults and this Orange Vodka Cranberry Spritzer is one of my vacation favorites!
At this time of year, many foods are heavy and this is an excellent drink to lighten things up. This spritzer is very easy to make and components can be pre-prepared to serve quickly! The magic of this cocktail begins with blueberries!
How to make a Keto Vodka Cranberry Spritzer
Cranberry juice is typically used to make a cranberry vodka spritzer, but since it's packed with sugar, it's definitely out of bounds for those who use keto. To get an amazing blueberry flavor in this drink, we are going to use real blueberries! Blueberries are very low in sugar and have around 12 total carbs per cup and about 7 net carbs … so completely acceptable for the keto in moderation!

So to get an amazing cranberry flavor without the juice, let's make a cranberry gel and it couldn't be easier! Blueberries are cooked in orange peel, a little water, and a keto friendly sweetener until thick, then strain to create a blueberry gel. Not only is it a great way to get a brilliant blueberry flavor, but the color it gives the cocktail is also great! This cranberry gel can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge until party time!
One of my favorite things about this sparkling and refreshing cocktail is that it's not too sweet! After years of being keto and low carb, I have become quite sensitive to sweets, so I like to use sparkling unsweetened or slightly sweetened sparkling water in this cocktail. That said, if the sweetest thing is your thing, you can also use any sugar-free soda you like, the ginger ale or lemon-lime soda would be great and kid-friendly too!

An alcohol-free version of this blueberry spritzer couldn't be simpler! Just skip the vodka and fill with more sparkling water or soda of your choice!

Cranberry Spritzer and Orange Vodka
Keto Cranberry and Orange Vodka Spritzers are gorgeous as they are delicious and great to serve after a big holiday meal or as a light choice for your festive cocktail.
Preparation time: 5 minutes.
Cook time: 10 minutes.
Total time: 15 minutes
12 ounces fresh washed blueberries
3/4 cup monkfruit / erythritol mix sweetener or your choice 1: 1 sweetener
1 cup of water
1/2 naval orange peel
Pinch ground cloves
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
12 ounces vodka
48 oz. Sparkling water of choice, flavored or simply chilled
Garnish: fresh blueberries and orange peel
To make the cranberry gel:
In a saucepan, combine blueberries, sweetener, water, orange peel, and cloves. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until thick, stirring frequently and separating the blueberries while the mixture is cooking.
Strain the blueberry mixture into a bowl with a mesh strainer and allow to cool. At this point, the cranberry gel can be refrigerated for later.
To make the Cranberry Orange Vodka Spritzer by the glass:
In a glass, combine 2 tablespoons of cranberry gel with about 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 1/2 oz. of vodka Stir to combine. Pour into 4-6 oz. of sparkling water and stir. Finish with ice and decorate with blueberries and orange peel.
To make the Cranberry Orange Vodka Spritzer with the pitcher
In a large jug, combine the cranberry gel, lemon juice, and vodka and stir to combine. Fill with sparkling water just before serving. Float some fresh blueberries and orange peel to decorate and serve on ice.
Alcohol-free version of Vodka Cranberry Spritzer: Skip the vodka and filling with more sparkling water or soft drinks of your choice!
