Delicious chicken and broccoli casserole without canned soup
This broccoli chicken tortellini casserole is fantastic! Chicken, broccoli and tortellini in a quick white sauce. Mmm! We ate this for dinner and the leftovers for lunch the next day. So good. How to make broccoli and chicken tortellini casserole
This chicken and broccoli tortellini casserole is very easy to make. You will start by making a quick white / béchamel sauce. It sounds difficult, but it is very simple. Melt the butter in a pan and add a little flour and garlic. Beat until smooth. Next, you will slowly beat the liquids. I do this little by little and beat well before adding more liquid. This will ensure that you do not have any lumps. Remove sauce from heat and add spices and cheese. After the sauce is done, simply mix it with fresh broccoli, cheese tortellini, and chicken. Spread in the pan and you are ready to bake.
Just a note: do not pre-cook the tortellini on this plate. The tortellini will cook while the casserole is cooked in the oven.

To cut down on preparation time, I suggest using roast chicken for cooked chicken in this recipe. You will need a whole chicken. I like Costco's more, but any roast chicken will work great!
