This Buffalo chicken cheese ball Makes a great snack for the party!
It's basketball season! Does everyone have their full brackets? I don't think the office pool will win this year, but I still love watching the games. We usually see them with some friends on the weekends, so I'm always looking for new snack ideas during the game. One of my new favorites is a buffalo ball with cheese and chicken.
I usually make buffalo chicken sauce for parties, but since we are now focused on basketball, I wanted to come up with something to do with it. The buffalo chicken cheese ball is simple to make, round and orange, perfect when we have basketball in our brains. Even better, you can do it a day in advance so you're ready when the guests arrive. It is a simple recipe, hot sauce, minced chicken, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese mixed together and then forming a ball. Yum! It is just the right amount of spice. I cut some black olives and placed them on the cheese ball in a basketball pattern to finish.
Since the ranch and buffalo chicken go so well, I served my cheese ball with Zesty Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves. I have loved Cheez-Its since I was little, they were a snack that my grandmother always had in her pantry when we visited, so I was very excited to try some of the new products that Cheez-Its has now. The Cheez-It slots are bigger than the Cheez-Its originals and are awesome with a little buffalo chicken stain with cheese! When I was at Walmart shopping for my Cheez-It slots, I also found Cheez-It Crunch'd (they're in the potato chip aisle!) And grabbed a bag of Cheddar Cheese Cheez-It Crunch'd to add to my snack table . They're more or less a cheesy version of a Cheez-It, so yeah, they were awesome.
I'm not going to lie, sometimes I go a little overboard for the holidays, I can't help it. I love preparing a nice table for all the food. When I found a mini basketball net in the craft store, I knew I wanted to do something with it. I ended up wrapping the Cheez-It Grooves box in white kraft paper and using strips of paper to pull out a board and pole. Then I made a hole in the box and pushed the net into it.
