Beer Cheese and Sausage Pasta

I am in love with this simple pasta dish! Smoked sausages and pasta mixed with a cheese sauce and easy beer – what won't you love?!?! PLUS, it only takes about 15 minutes from start to finish. SO quick and easy!

I used smoked turkey sausage in this recipe. I think it tastes great and saves some calories. I need all the calorie savings after the holidays! Who's with me?!?!

As I said, this takes around 15 minutes to do. Basically the time it takes to boil the pasta. I started the pasta, browned the sausage, and then made the beer and cheese sauce. This is best served immediately. If it stays on for a while and gets too thick, just add a little milk and it will look like new.

Beer Cheese and Sausage Pasta

  • 8 ounces dry pasta – penne, elbows, or bell

  • 1 package (14 oz.) Smoked turkey sausage, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 cup of beer

  • 3 tablespoons of flour

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard

  • 1/2 teaspoon of paprika

  • salt and pepper to taste


  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, cook the smoked sausage in olive oil until golden, about 5 minutes. Remove it from the heat.

  3. In a medium saucepan, heat beer over medium-high heat until bubbly. Add the flour and cheese. Whisk until cheese is melted and smooth. Whisk in Worcestershire, dried mustard, paprika, salt and pepper. Remove it from the heat.

  4. Mix the cooked sausage and pasta in cheese and beer sauce. Serve immediately.

  5. (To thicken the sauce, add a flour little by little. For a thinner sauce, add small amounts of beer until it reaches the desired consistency).
