The bacon wrapped the Brussels sprouts, topped with a little maple syrup and a pinch of cayenne pepper! These are the perfect appetizer or garnish for the holidays.
Well that's it. Game over for me. I'm clearly a Very old person.
You see, I served brussels sprouts as an appetizer for the guests and I was excited.
In the past, I served my guests things like the best spinach artichoke sauce or grape jelly meatballs.
Until about 10 minutes ago, Brussels sprouts were something my grandmother served at dinner and my mother choked me with her deadly gaze.
Now, suddenly, I am the woman who serves children with Brussels sprouts.

The funny thing is that these were really DELICIOUS. Probably thanks to the fact that I didn't boil the Brussels sprouts (seriously, Grandma, how could you?) And I also wrapped these guys in bacon.

How to Make Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts:
To get started, trim the ends of your buds and peel off the outer layers.
Do not get carried away by peeling the outer leaves, just remove what comes easily.
Then cut a little bacon in half and use a half of bacon to wrap those little sprouts.
Half a piece of bacon for Brussels sprouts, unless your cabbages are small and then you can use a little less. Don't skimp on the bacon.
Next, take some real maple syrup and rub it over all the bacon-wrapped sprouts.
Sprinkle just a pinch of cayenne pepper. I love the sweet and spicy atmosphere that is happening here.
Put them in a hot oven and let the Brussels sprouts soften a little and the bacon becomes crispy.
These make a great snack, especially during the holiday season. Put a toothpick in each cabbage and let your guests discover how much they love properly cooked Brussels sprouts. I bet even bud-haters will become bud lovers when you're done with them.
