Bacon Pickle Fries

My whole family loves pickles. . . and bacon. So why not combine the two for a tasty snack? Seriously, these are so good and so easy to make.

Holidays can be a challenge for anyone. . . especially if you are trying to eat low carbohydrates or Trim Healthy Mama. There are parties and gatherings full of sugary, carbohydrate-rich sweets. It can be daunting trying to stick to the plan! (If you want some responsibility, why don't you join my 2 week sugar free challenge?)

So it is a good idea to take your own candy. Offer to bring a plate to help, then do something you can eat to go. That way, you can be sure that you have something to eat and don't feel like you're missing out.

These Bacon Pickle Fries It would be a great thing to bring to a party. I think they taste better after they've completely cooled, allowing the bacon to brown a little more. If you're not sure about eating hot pickles (my sister-in-law was afraid she would desecrate her bacon with a hot pickle. Hah!), Just let them cool completely before eating them.

I mean, if you can! They smell so good as they bake! My mouth watering just thinking about them! I like to serve them with a Ranch dressing for dipping.

You can, of course, use a store-bought Ranch dressing (try to find one with 2 carbs per serving or less), but my favorite Ranch dressing is NEVER Rhonda Ranch dressing. It is so creamy and delicious that it only takes a few minutes (like THREE) to make. If you haven't tried it yet, you should put it on your list below to give it a try! (It is very thick, so I add a little unsweetened almond milk to mine to dilute it a little).

So what do you need for these Bacon Pickle Fries?

4 pickle spears

8 slices of bacon

Bacon Pickle Fries

Preparation time 8 minutes

Cook time 25 minutes

Total time 33 minutes

Course: appetizer, garnish, snack

Ingredients

  • 4 pickle spears

  • 8 slices of bacon, halved

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425.

  • Cut each pickle spear in half, then fourth. (See the video above for visual instructions.)

  • Wrap each quarter pickle with half a piece of bacon.

  • Place on a baking sheet.

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon starts to get crispy.

  • Serve with Ranch dressing for dipping. (See above for my favorite Ranch recipe.)
