4th of July Red White Blue Drink

I have been planning our big July 4th celebrations for the past few weeks and was looking forward to starting our drinks that we will serve. I am planning to make our tasty CopyCat Chick-fil-A lemonade and also some of our strawberry iced tea to keep everyone cool. Basic drinks are always a must-have along with bottled water and soft drinks to keep everyone cool, but it's fun to add a few themed drinks occasionally.

Layered drinks are always a lot of fun for adults and children, so this red, white and blue drink will be perfect. I did a test with them a couple of weeks ago and took some photos to share with all of you. Layers can be quite challenging, so I've decided that I'll make a tray of these layered drinks and keep them frozen until serving time.

I found that the best way to keep all layers separate was to freeze each layer for a moment. This doesn't bother me because I plan on making a large tray, freezing, and then taking it out of the freezer a bit before serving. Since we are out all afternoon and night, it won't be a problem. The key to layered drinks is in the sugar content. You will always want the color with the highest sugar content in the bottom of your drink.

You will need three simple ingredients to make these drinks in layers. The time needed to make them will not be long, just a little time to freeze the layers a bit. Be sure to use plenty of ice in your glasses to start.
